Potash Farm Cobnut Walk

Date/Time Location Course facilitator
17 Jul 2021 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM Potash Farm Alexander Hunt

Alexander Hunt gave us a Friday evening talk about Kentish Cobnuts in January 2020.  We planned a visit to his farm last year but it was cancelled because of Covid.

This year we are trying again. Spend a wonderful morning  at Potash Farm to see the cobnut trees for yourselves!

This trip is a chance to be shown round the village of St Mary’s Platt, its beautiful church, historic buildings and connections to famous residents as well as to find out about its Kentish Cobnut Plantation.

Alexander is very knowledgeable about how to grow cobnuts and you will have time to ask him lots of questions when we have refreshments in his garden and have a chance to look at the vast array of nut products in the shop.

Then we will visit the hidden delights of Kent’s first edible forest garden including a sand quarry and a smuggler’s cave.

For those who want to, we’ll then wander back through the village to a traditional pub – The Blue Anchor, which serves good food and real ale and cider, for a great way to end the trip.  We need to make reservations for the pub so please select the appropriate ticket.
