Hedge Laying Workshop

Date/Time Location Course facilitator
20 Nov 2021 9:30 AM - 3:30 PM Oast House Bob Peate

We are very lucky to have secured the services of professional hedge layer Bob Peate who will show us how to go about laying an overgrown hedge.
Bob is keen to say he’s not a teacher as such but will be happy to do hands-on training to set you up to do your own hedge laying. His assistant Pete will also be on hand so, as we’ll have only 6 trainees, the ratio of experts to learners will be very high.
There’s a few items you should bring:
– a billhook (available from country stores such as Moles at Heathfield)
– a pruning saw
– loppers
– suitable workwear and decent boots and gloves (you may be handling blackthorn, hawthorn, wild roses etc.)
– a pack lunch

Also, if you have them (though they will be provided):
– strimmer or slash hook
– sledgehammer or maul
– a small axe or side-axe
And, if you have one, please also bring a small chainsaw + appropriate safety wear

At only £60 this workshop is excellent value so we expect it to sell out quickly, so don’t delay!
