Have you every wanted to make something with your wool?  This is a hands on course making a seat cover, working from ‘ fleece to finished article’ in a morning.

You will learn how to weave on a peg loom, which is a simple loom on which you can create ‘chunky’ articles. You can use wool or re-purpose your old clothes. One of the beauties of this type of weaving, is that the article grows quickly!

If you wish to bring your own fleece, please do so. You can use either raw fleece or wool that has been washed and dried. You will need about 1kg raw wool or 500g  washed wool. You can purchase Shetland fleece in natural colours from Owena. Raw unwashed fleece £5. Washed and carded £30-40. You will also need cotton for the warp (minimum 50 m), which Owena will supply at cost if you don’t bring your own.

This is going to be great fun, lots of talk, and busy fingers, Owena will supply tea, coffee and cake but bring a packed lunch with you.

If you have a peg loom please say so in the comment box when you book so that SFTG knows how many looms we need to borrow for this workshop!
