Edwina Moore has organised a visit to this 3500 acre estate owned by Charles Burrell and his wife Isabella Tree. It was once a traditional farm with dairy and beef herds and intensive arable enterprise and was losing money. In 2000, the owners took a different approach that was sustainable, productive and cheaper to run. They embarked on a series of regenerative and restorative projects aimed at natural conservation that has been called ‘rewilding’. Now the farm is home to many species of butterflies, birds, flowers and insects. We will tour the farm by a Trooper carrier truck and find out why the farm has become so talked about.
