Michael Vine will talk on Selling Meat, a farmers experience. We are all looking to reduce our food miles, and to support our local smallholders and farmers and to eat meat that has been lovingly reared. This talk will give you some insights into how to capitalise on the current consumer trend to eat great quality mear that has been reared with the utmost of animal welfare standards, often by small batch producers, or hobbyists. Michael is himself from a long line of farmers, and is locally based at Arlington, East Sussex. He has a wealth of experience of producing and selling meat his own meat, both at the farm gate and at local markets, and Michael will share his experiences with you, and you can pick up top tips on how you to can sell your own produced meat for a profit.

This is a free talk, for existing members of the Small Farm Training Group, and for those who are thinking of joining us, please do come along and have a taste of what we offer, if you like what you see, you will be able to join as a member on the night for just £20.

We also invite our members to bring their own produce to all of our Friday Night Meetings, so please bring your wallet or purse if you wish to purchase direct from a local supplier. Our members bring anything from Honey, to Free Range Sausages, from Soap to Sloe Gin, from Lamb to Face Cream. (Please note produce purchases can only be made in cash, there is not a card option as you are buying from a small, often home rearing producer).
